Supply Chain Management - Manager

The Manager – Supply Chain Management shall direct or coordinate production, purchasing, warehousing, distribution activities to limit costs and improve accuracy, customer service, and efficiency. The incumbent also examines existing procedures or opportunities for streamlining activities to meet production and distribution needs while overseeing storage, or processing of inventory to meet industry and corporate requirements and standards.

Duties and responsibilities

  • 1. Develop and implement supply chain plans and activities:
  • • Be responsible for all logistics management functions, including multiple facilities (in-plants, North hub/warehouses, South warehouses) such as warehouse operations, 3PL performance, inventory control, transportation & distribution, and Logistic outsourcing. that support business strategies adapted to changing market conditions, new business opportunities, or cost reduction strategies.
  • • Review or update supply chain practices and processes in accordance with new or changing environmental policies, standards, regulations, or laws.
  • • Document physical supply chain processes, such as workflows, cycle times, position responsibilities, or system flows for compliance and audit purpose. Develop procedures for coordination of supply chain management with other functional areas, such as sales, marketing, finance, production, or quality assurance.
  • • Evaluate and select information or other technology solutions to improve tracking and reporting of materials or products distribution, storage, or inventory.
  • • Define performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of supply chain factors, such as product cost or quality.
  • • Be responsible for annual budget exercise and subsequent operational budget change activity.
  • • Take part in Supply Team rollout activities on continuous improvement process, process optimization and system integration as and when is required.
  • 2. Manage 3P network relationship and performance to achieve efficiency and cost saving:
  • • Direct the search, selection and evaluation of supplier performance based on standards and requirements.
  • • Establish, strengthen and maintain a solid working relationship with the SCM team of subsidiaries, distributors and/or dealers. Ensure SOPs are adhered to with established KPIs to measure, monitor and track the performance of suppliers & CoEs, 3rd Party Logistics and distribution partners to increase and exceed Customers Service Levels.
  • 3. Ensure forecast accuracy of demand and supply and on-time availability of materials and products.
  • • Monitor forecasts and quotas to identify changes or to determine their effect on supply chain activities. Work with Production to define long-term and mid-term plans to balance the Supply (local production, import) with the Demand (Sales in the country and export Sales).
  • • Analyze actual sales against sales forecast on monthly basis and make necessary adjustment to balance the demand and supply in BBVN & overseas vendors to achieve the optimum inventory level.
  • • Design or implement plant warehousing strategies for production materials or finished products. Analyze inventories to determine how to increase inventory turns, reduce waste, or optimize customer service.
  • • Manage product phase in/out, product discontinuation, product diversion and also control of aging & expiring products.
  • 4. Ensure and monitor best customer service quality:
  • • Be responsible for inventory management at all logistics facilities for both local and import products
  • • To work with Sales & Marketing Management to define and execute the business models, distribution channels to have the best effectiveness and business result in accordance with the market situation and country regulations.
  • • Lead and manage customer services, and customs, permit and import tax exemption application for incoming materials (for Export goods), etc. May involve with procurement to ensure utmost integrity when dealing with strategic business partners.
  • 5. Provide strong leadership for the team to drive a high performance team:
  • • Be responsible for the development and performance of team members in the department.
  • • Manage the SCM operational performance reporting, streamlining processes and systems to ensure all SCM activities have been conformed to company’s policy and conducted in the most efficient manner. Ensure data integrity to report & update KPI to management accurately and timely.
  • • Ensure that all staff activities are in accordance with the guidelines of the company’s Code of Conduct..
  • • Recruit, manage, train and restructure SCM team to ensure right people for the right job. Work with direct manager and Human Resources to ensure that appropriate strategies, policies and processes are in place to recruit, retain and develop talented individuals.

Professional competencies

  • • Bachelor degree with related working experience, in which at least 5 years in management role.
  • • Strong working experience of supply chain process and relevant software (eg: SAP)
  • • A solid business background as well as excellent commercial understanding
  • • Exceptional at building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders internally and externally.

Personal competencies

  • • Ability to influence, negotiate and make decision in a matrix environment to optimize development and address barriers.
  • • Strong communication both in Vietnamese and English, interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • • Attention to detail. Be a team player. Possess critical thinking and problem solving skill.
